This is a fantastic presentation on mining and life in the Tarkine area over a continuous 150 year + period. It includes some rare photos and historical accounts of the day to day goings on in a prospectors life. Several Key identities are noted and its worth while reflecting on the tenacity and perseverance of our historical prospectors, in what can only be described as trying conditions, even on a good day.
There is a fantastic image and accounts of Mcginty, Graue, Moore, Emmett, McKimmie, Job Savage and Websters who had the hotel on the other side of the river the Sweed would row passengers over to. The images open up into bigger ones for a better look simply by clicking them. The Gladstone Dredge is included. Its the one that was put in below the Rocky River.
